A recently published handwritten note from the Rebbe reveals how the name "Likkutei Sichos" was chosen for the edited Sichos of the Rebbe.

When the edited Sichos started to be published, they were called "Toichen Inyonim" and were released in booklet form. In 5722 (1962) when the first book was published, a number of names was suggested for the book. The Rebbe chose the name Likkutei Sichos and wrote it in his holy hand writing.

Years later in 1979 when Sichos In English started to translate the Sichos, the editors sent to the Rebbe a draft of the front cover.

The Rebbe added an additional letter "K" to Likutei Sichos and put his holy name before the word "Shlita".

These notes were both published in a Teshura for the wedding of the son of Rabbi Sholom Jacobson.

1. Yud or no yud?
thank you

On the Seforim of לקוטי שיחות and on all the ליקוטים the word "לקוטי" has no YUD. However in this Kesav Yad Kodesh, which might be the very FIRST time The Rebbe wrote this as the title (based on the text of the Tzetel): you can see it is ליקוטי שיחות WITH a YUD after the Lamed. Who can explain?

2. teshura
